The ILT Kidzone Festival is an iconic event in Southland. It began in 2005 as a four day festival and has grown to a six day festival with over 170 activities for families to experience. Every year 11,000 people get the opportunity to walk through the doors of the ILT Kidzone Festival. Without all our ILT Kidzone heroes this would not be possible so we would like to thank all of them for their continued support.

Claire Blau

ILT Kidzone Director

Venture Southland proudly presents Southland’s favourite family event, the 14th annual ILT Kidzone Festival. Join us on a journey ‘around the world’ as we travel through different countries, explore cultures from near and far, and celebrate diversity.
A special thanks to all of our funders, sponsors and James Hargest College, and to the dedicated staff and volunteers who work so hard behind the scenes to help bring the ILT Kidzone Festival to life.

Alan Dennis

Chairman, ILT & ILT Foundation

The Invercargill Licensing Trust and the ILT Foundation have been on board the ILT Kidzone journey from the beginning and now 14 years later we are still very proud to be the major supporter. We continue to be delighted by what this event offers and are looking forward to this year’s theme – ‘around the world’. Travel offers so many experiences so to be able to enjoy some of the aspects of around the world right here in Invercargill is fantastic.
We acknowledge the huge efforts of the organisers and volunteers who make this event the success it is. We wish everyone attending a happy and fun time.

Paul Casson

Chief Executive, Venture Southland

Welcome to the 2018 ILT Kidzone Festival. I have been lucky to have worked in Africa, Hong Kong, China and Thailand, and during this time have met many wonderful people and experienced many cultures that are different but similar to our own. The ‘around the world’ theme highlights that we are all part of a global community. Enjoy your time at the 2018 ILT Kidzone Festival, a special thanks to the Invercargill Licensing Trust, ILT Foundation, the Community Trust of Southland and the team at James Hargest College.

Margot Hishon

Chair, Community Trust of Southland

We know you will love this year’s festival as you explore and learn about different people, places and cultures that make up our wonderful world. Make the most of the opportunity to experience faraway places that you may visit one day!
The Community Trust of Southland is proud to support this truly wonderful community event. Thank you to all those who organised and volunteered to bring joy to everyone that attends.

Andy Wood

Principal, James Hargest College

Nau mai, haere mai! Welcome to James Hargest for this year’s ‘around the world’ ILT Kidzone.
As a school we deliberately provide opportunities for students to mix with others from around the world. So it is with pleasure that we endorse, and support this year’s Kidzone theme of cultural diversity, and awareness of other peoples.
Good on you for giving your kids what they need more than anything else - your time, your sharing in their experiences.
Nga mihi - warm greetings
